Preliminary Exercise 3: Identifying connotations of mise en scene codes and their relationship to film genre
INTRODUCTION
In this preliminary exercise, we worked on a creative diagram of a chosen genre and film of our choice to describe elements of Mise en scene. We worked in pairs in this exercise and researched about the elements that fit into our film. Our chosen film was "21 Jump Street" and our genre was comedy. We described elements like color, lighting, set design, props and makeup, characters, and setting. The poster we made involved creativity and artistic design as well as researched answers and descriptions for our film.
REFLECTION
In this preliminary exercise, me and my partner "M" worked together to make a poster based on the Mise en scene elements of our chosen film "21 Jump Street". We used our laptops to research on Google for information about the film and find any linking details for Mise en scene elements. My partner and I split the work into half, one of us researched and wrote and the other colored and drew. We discussed into great detail about the film. We learned how to describe elements on a film and also describe a genres element as well.
