Preliminary Exercise 5: Analyzing Genre
Introduction Paragraph
The assignment consisted of us making a bubble diagram poster analyzing a specific subgenre selected and documenting 3 examples of mise en scene. Genre is important to film producers and audiences as it dictates the style of filming, narrative, and it's atmosphere. Genres are the subjects like comedy, horror, action, and sci-fi. A subgenre is a smaller and more specific genre based from the main genre which is more wide and broad in it's style, a example of this would be action comedy. The film genre I like watching the most is romance and sci fi, I enjoy these the most due to how they feel relatable as well as make me feel excited during some scenes in sci fi like Star Wars.
Reflection Paragraph
Me and my partner made a bubble diagram poster to learn more about genre and show skill in the subject. We studied and researched multiple things about the film we chose that fits that genre that's chosen. We used Google on our school laptops to find information needed to complete the assignment, I would say we are experts in research and skill in using such media. We learned a lot about genre and it's subgenres as well as how to define it and describe it as well.
