Preliminary Exercise 12: Camera Movement Videos

Preliminary Exercise 12: Camera Movement Videos

Introduction Paragraph

The objective of this assignment is to produce six videos due to our size of our group and use our storyboard from the previous exercise to guide our filming. We needed my IPhone 11, scratch paper, and chairs for our filming. The movements we selected for this assignment is pan, roll, tilt, whip pan, pull out, and static. Video 1 is the pan, "Two students eye each other", with a tone of anger and size of medium shot with a eye level angle with the framing being a two shot. Video 2 is a static shot with the action line being two students conversating about drama with the tone being comedic and the size being medium close up and angle being reverse shot and the framing being a two shot. Video 3 is a simple  pull out with two kids sitting at their desk doing work with a tone of boredom, it's a wide shot and is eye level with a framing being two shot. Video 4 is the whip pan video, a student catches a classmate stealing their belongings. The tone is surprise and shock and is a medium sized shot being placed at eye level with a framing of two shot. Video 5 is a rolling camera movement with a neutral tone being placed at a low angle with a wide shot size and a framing of two shot. The last video is a tilt camera movement with the student having nothing on their work after a long class period and has a anxious tone with a medium close up shot and a eye level to overhead angle and the framing being one shot.

Reflection paragraph

In this exercise we learnt how to use the camera movements correctly and their positioning and exact motions. I did the liberty of recording while my partner Dorine B. helped act and guide the filming process. Me and my team member got a fellow classmate to help out with the assignment and we got to accomplish this exercise with ease. We used our surrounding resources to capture a story within each clip and used home made props to build said story. I would say my team did well on this assignment and would thrive on the next filming exercise.
